SAYING FAREWELL TO 2012

For me 2012 has been a year of firsts, adventure, challenges, learning, and so much more : I am grateful for all that I have been able to achieve this year, and look forward to seeing what the New Year has in store for our family. Mia journeys into Year 6 the last year of primary school - it still feels like yesterday that she was in Prep. Ella going into Year 5 with so much to experience. Stay safe tonight and I wish you the most joyful New 2013.xx xxxxxx

I used Bella Blvd Birthday boy paper - it is orange chevron, but stripes never photograph very well !
I also used Bella Blvd alphas from Thankful range and the funky shaped chippies are from bisous Zoo (2008!)

WATCHING :  X-Factor with my girls, we are totally enjoying it!

Last day of holidays, and my two girls are still snoozing - they return to school tomorrow.  We are catching a movie today and then coming home to iron uniforms, shine shoes for the the last term of the year!

MY LAYOUT FOR KRAFT IT UP

This month at KIU the challenge is to use misting !!

Here is my layout:
I used Crafters Workshop masks, arrow mask made by Ebony Van der Starre, washi tape, October Afternoon 9-5 brads, Hambley flower rub ons, Amy Tangerine date stamp, October Afternoon label tag, Dylusions sprays.

NEW CHALLENGE UP AT SCRAPTHEBOYS

Wow have you seen the DT layouts for this month's Scraptheboys??

The challenge is scrap a picture of your boy with his favourite book:
I scrapped my husband's hands reading one of his favourite books:  rifle reloading !!

I had scrapped one layout but I was unhappy with it, so while I was away at Port Fairy I scrapped this one : I was sitting next to my beautiful friend Ebony who had started to paint and texture a page and she did not like it - so I cut it in half (as you know I love my 6x12's ) and used it and scrapped my scrapthe boys layout take 2 - !!

I hope you will all take part in this month's challenge!

ONE MORE SLEEP RETREAT TIME

Tomorrow I am off to Port Fairy to spend 2 creative days with 5 other beautiful girls in a modern funky holiday house acrosss the road from the beach!  Looking forward to it as I have lots of DT work to complete!!
I hope the school holidays are treating you all well !  It is sunny here in Portarlington this morning with a slight wind!

STARTING TO SCRAP MY HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF AMERICAN PHOTOS!

The AMAZING Bean - Chicago - just incredible!  I used Purple Pumpkin spotty buttons, rubons from Hambley, some old Pink Paislee alphas and Chevron fabric self adhesive, red and white spotty washi tape, kraft, Basill textured cardstock!

Here is my September example:  my very cheeky friend Clem - I took this photo in the park when he was 3!  He will be starting school in 2013 where did this time go?  I was honoured to be present at Clem's birth - a special experience indeed - love you Clem xx

 

 

 

 

 

Here is the criteria :

I used Amy Tangerine, unknown stamp as a background (althought it could be Prima not sure!) chevron washi tape, Tim Holtz photo strip, American Crafts alphas (cool colour just love it), the number stamps and one size fits all and expensive bar code - manufacturer escapes me but I will let you know.. Love these for a boy layout!

The first layout incorporates a tag made with the fabulous Dina Wakley when I was at CHA Chicago and I completed this at the ScrapJammies Reunion Crop in Elburn USA !

I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist, paint, Faber Castell Gelatos, Louise Nelson splat technique with the dabbers, and twine and part of a serviette with a quote I adored!!

This one I completed this week and used a background of washi tape, Amy Tangerine stamps, Prima pp, This photo was taken at the USA crop, Ginger or as I pronounced it "Ginga" is a special friend and always will be.

Since returning from America life has been busy !  I have come home with some of the most beautiful memories ever, spending time with like minded creatives, firm friends after years and years of internet friendship meeting in real life was so special!
CHAChicago  did not disappoint - met my expectations and much more!! 
Volunteering for Charity Wings was an honour!  Photo overload to follow!!

AMERICA HERE I COME IN..... 5 SLEEPS

Whoo I am so excited that one of my dreams is about to be realised!  I am off to Chicago on Sunday to attend CHA - and to volunteer for CHARITY WINGS on their booth!!  So my itinery will be: Fly from Melbourne to LA then onto Chicago where I will stay at the Intercontinental Hotel for 4 nights - attending CHA for 3 days, then outlet shopping, then staying overnight at my dear American friend Laurie's with her and her family, then off to a Retreat for 4 days - then flying to Texas to stay with another beautiful friend in her home and exploring Texas with her!!

So excited !! 
My husband will be taking time off work to stay home and be with Mia and Ella! 
I am sure I will come back inspired, motivated and refreshed!

FIRST BIG ADVENTURE FOR 2012

One of my goals and bucket list items is about to become a reality! I am off to America on 15th July - to attend CHA in Chicago, then join my beautiful American scrapping friends (we have spoken online for 8 years) for a 5 day retreat! Then fly to Texas for a road trip (hopefully also purchase some bright red cowgirl boots) and share a fish fry up with a special family !! Then flying home the beginning of August! I am so excited, as the last few years healthwise in the Jackman household have defnitely "MADE US ALL STRONGER" healthwise! Remember we can all make our goals and aspirations become a reality - just taking the first step is the key!! Love Marelle
