farm day was fab

We had a fabulous Farm Day yesterday the girls brought back sheep's skulls, (teeth intact) sheep fleece, sheep bones walnuts from a walnut tree, and lots of wonderful memories of an adventurous day on a farm!
Thanks to the Cole Family for opening up their farm to us and for taking precious time out of their busy lives to show our family how farming families live

catch up time

HI lovely readers
I had a lovely hot chocolate with the lovely Leeanne Doble yesterday she has twin girls at Mia and Ella's school who started this year and are in year 1. They are both very quiet girls and are gradually settling into Christian College! Ella calls them "the doble twins" because they are identical Mum they look the same so Icall them the doble twins!!
I really enjoyed our chat (thanks Leeanne you are such a sweetie ) and you have such an amazing art talent ! thanks for sharing

A few questions : what are you reading at the moment?
I took the girls to the mobile library last night and I decided I would take some time to do some reading so I chose 2 ramdom books
One is called The Colour of Lightening by Paulette Jiles which I cannot put down!
the other is an Australian book called the The Butterfly Man by Heather Rose
I am trying to read a little before bedtime as this was a pastime I used to love but have neglected it so I decided it was time to revisit!

What is happening for the weekend?

Ella is singing 2 songs at an Open Mic at the Potato Shed Arts Centre tomorrow night and is very excited!
Warren's mother is coming for the weekend and then on Saturday it is "FarmDay" where farms around Victoria are matched with "city" families who visit for the day and experience a day on a farm! So my motherinlaw Mia and Ella and I are off to Camperdown to a wheat farm. Will post pics after .
Then on Sunday Greg (stepson) and Carley (his partner) are making use of a free Zoo pass on Sunday and taking the girls so it will be an action packed weekend for us all!
I hope to scrap on Sunday when the girls are at the Zoo and finish a couple of projects I will teach at the shop in June.

Why not let me know what is happening in your world lovelies
Hugs
Marelle

Thursday road trip

OnThursday Shell and I set out from Geelong on a "road trip" to Melbourne to meet the lovely Miss Kathie! (before we could set off on our Thelma and Louise road trip we had to stop at the obligatory truckie stop to get a coffee - well the lady behind the counter was pouring capps with two hands and frothing milk at the same time with her knee - AMAZING - try doing that husbands = no, on second thoughts forget it dh's = they would never be t co-ordinated! So off we went on our journey boy did I need this distraction after the past few weeks - was bliss to sit and be driven also! (THANKS SHELL you did an amazing job for a non Melbournite) LOL

(Hey Shell we should have bought a drink at the Taverner heeeeeeeee inside joke folks)

After chatting online with Kathie I was very excited to meet the lovely lady in person! I was not disappointed - an added extra was her lovely DH was there too! Ladies let me tell you this man is one sweet, supportive, patient man - not only is he lovely, he is interesting, intelligent and talks the talk that we do SCRAPPING! True - oh they are such a gorgeous couple and sense of humour is just brilliant!

It will be first of many meetings with the lovely generous sweet funny Kathie (you warmed my heart more than you will know - and boy did I need it that day.....)
Thank you gorgeous ladyxxxxx

So Shell and I (aka Thel and Lou) snuck out of Geelong into the unknown for a day
there has tobe more of it I say Shell!!
shell has her sights on Ikea - mm then more undiscovered scrapping shops here we come!

xxxHugs

CHILDREN SAY THE FUNNIEST THINGS

On Friday, Mia decided she wanted to take a different water drink bottle to school, when I picked her up after school her words were : "Mum, you know the new drink bottle, well the water tasted very..... liquidy"!!!!

A VERY SPECIAL MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL

My two beautiful girls have made me pancakes in bed (with Dad's help)(I made the batter last night lol)
I would like to wish all Mothers out there a very special Day - if there is a Mother out there who is alone, somehow make it special for her please - just a flower from your garden is special to someone who has nobody..
I thank my own Mother (passed away in 1979) for instilling wonderful life values into my life - she was a strong, independent, generous, loving and welcoming lady who did not let the fact that she was a woman stand in her way on her journey... I hope I can do you proud Mum with the upbringing of my girls..... Happy MOther's Day Mum... Still miss you after all these years..
